Smith Draw is located eight miles north of Separ New Mexico, which is a travel stop along Interstate 10. Approximately 25 miles east of Lordsburg, NM., 35 miles west of Deming NM., and 30 miles south of Silver City NM. The cities of Las Cruces NM to the east and Tucson Az. to the west, are roughly a 2 hour drive.

The Ranch headquarters is highly improved with an owner’s home built in 1999 expanding over 5,000 square feet, 4 bed rooms, 3 bath, and a 900 square feet apartment. A managers home 1800 square feet 3 bed 1 bath. All homes are in excellent repair. There is a set of steel shipping pens, with scale, hay barns salt barn, and shop. Also working corrals throughout the ranch

Smith draw ranch elevations range from 5,000 feet on lower levels to 6,000 feet in the upper mountain country.

Primary Grasses consist of gramma grasses, with tabosa in lower levels, and a wide variety of Chihuahuan desert chaparral for grazing, the lower country does produce an abundance of fileri in wet springs.

Average rainfall is 12-14 inches.


The Smith Draw Ranch is a well improved working cattle ranch located in some of the best country of southwestern New Mexico, the access is great with an all-weather county maintained road and interstate 10 is only 8 miles south. Owners have consistently shipped 600 lbs plus calves. Easy country and easy to operate.
