Description
The Hackamore Ranch is one of the few remaining irrigated horse properties of its size in the Verde Valley. The property is presently being operated as a horse ranch, having excellent horse facilities. According to the owner, the main residence originally was built in 1869. The ranch is surrounded by other irrigated ranch properties, on the western side of the Verde River. Also, the Headquarters is located in a picturesque setting at the base of Squaw Peak Mountain, known by many as the exact center of the State of Arizona.

Irrigated Pastures
The irrigated land is divided into 5 irrigated pastures, ranging in size from 3 - 14 acres.

Irrigated Water
The irrigation water is provided by the Verde Ditch Company. The water assessments are $65 / acre / year.

Irrigation water for the farm land is supplied by the Verde (Woods) Ditch, which obtains its water from the Verde River. The Verde Ditch Company operates the ditch for the shareholders. Each acre under the ditch represents one share. According to the Verde Ditch Company, the ranch property received water for 30 acres. The water rights on the Verde River have not been adjudicated.

All of the water system is underground pipe and designed by Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS) for sufficient water flow to all farm land.
