Marquette Claims are located approximately fifteen miles southeast
of Bisbee, Arizona at the southern end of the Mule Mountains. The
claims lie along the County maintained gravel border road between
Bisbee Junction and Paul Spur.
Forty-two Patented lode mining claims consisting of approximately
801 acres lying in Sections 9, 10, 11, 15, and 16, Township 24 South,
Range 25 East, G&SRB&M.
Kankanna, Wisconsin, Escanaba, Soo, Wertz, Sylvester, Raymond, Franklin,
Estella, No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7, No. 8, No.
9, No. 10, No. 11, No 12, No. 13, No. 14, No. 15, No. 16, No. 17,
No. 18, No. 19, Milwaukee, Houghton, Joe, Adoline, Calumet, Hancock,
Oshkosh, Ishpeming, Jones, Boston, Humbolt, Maries, Lindauer and Chicago
Lode Mining Claims in Warren Mining District, being shown on Mineral
Survey No. 1877, on file in the Bureau of Land Management, as granted
by Patent recorded in Book 23, Deeds of Mines, page 21, Records of
Cochise County, Arizona.
Early mining efforts have been superficial. Some Manganese Oxide ore
was produced and there may be some low grade copper ore onsite. The
majority of the claims are relatively untouched.
Homesites, grazing land, recreational mineral collection and rockhounding
are some the potential uses of the claims.
